We are delighted to be supporting Leeds Carnival Choir as our 2017 Autumn Creative Café.

Carnival Choir was established in July 2017 as part of our 50th anniversary celebrations of Leeds West Indian Carnival, bringing together over 50 singers and musicians from across the Leeds area. Accompanied by contemporary and pan musicians and directed by acclaimed musicians Christella Litras, Roy Johnson and Cleve Freckleton, Carnival Choir performed choral renditions of calypso and soca classics at the Carnival King and Queen Show and the Carnival Day main stage back in August.

Now the Carnival Choir is back once again. Rehearsals will take place in the theatre of Leeds City College’s Park Lane Campus on Thursday nights, 6pm-8pm on the following dates:

  • Thursday 9th November
  • Thursday 16th November
  • Thursday 23rd November
  • Thursday 30th November
  • Thursday 7th December

These rehearsals will culminate in a Christmas concert during the second week of December (date TBC soon).

If you are interested in taking part, please email us at info@gcfoundation.co.uk for more details. All ages and levels of ability are welcome. This is an amazing opportunity to work alongside professional and semi-professional singers including Leeds own Caution Collective.
